During deployment Jay experienced musculoskeletal injuries to his back, shoulder, and feet. He was also on the receiving end of several IED blasts leading to mTBI and PTS. With his injuries and diagnosis he has ample experience in the VA Healthcare System and he is finding ways to help veterans better navigate that system in the area of Pain Management.
Jay has worked with Fortune 500 medical device companies as well as start-ups and independent firms in the Pain Management space. His favorite aspect of working in healthcare is patient interaction and impacting the lives of those he works with, especially other veterans.
Jay is also a guest speaker for the VA and enjoys working with and speaking for veteran groups and non-profits. After learning to manage his own barriers with mental health and chronic pain, he feels it is his duty to share his story to help others embrace their own vulnerability in order to grow.
